Best Of Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong

best jazzElla Fitzgerald's voice was satin to Louis Armstrong's sandpaper, but if you do a song together, their chemistry impeccable. This disc select highlights from the three albums they made together at Verve (including Porgy and Bess), and add a cool song live at the Hollywood Bowl. Although not well agree (voice Armstrong was not built for harmony), Ella and dignity swing flashes to tease the mind to play Satchmo throaty rumble of good humor in symbiosis. The material is usually easy thing Tin Pan Alley (lots of Gershwin, and people were like "I've Got My Love to keep warm) and they fly like a dragon.

Kind of Blue - Miles Davis

Posted by Chika on , under , | comments (0)

best jazzThis is a jazz record owned by people who are not listening to jazz, and with reason. Band itself is extraordinary (proof of Miles Davis expert skills Casting ', if not the existence of God), where John Coltrane and Julian "Cannonball" Adderley on saxophone, Bill Evans (or "Freddie Freeloader" Wynton Kelly) on piano and rhythm crack unit of Paul Chambers on bass and Jimmy Cobb on drums. Coltrane's astringency on tenor offset funky self on alto Adderley, with Davis as a moderate among them, Bill Evans Lake is still the voice calls they run. Meanwhile, the partnership pace Cobb and Chambers is ready to click time and eternity. It is the registration key of what became the capital of jazz, the music is free to set harmonies and forms of rock songs. In Davis hand of man is light music, but who refuses to disappear into the background. In retrospect every note seems perfect, and each section is moving towards a fatality.

Track Listing

1. So What
2. Freddie Freeloader
3. Blue in Green
4. All Blues
5. Flamenco Sketches
6. Flamenco Sketches [Alternate Take][*]
